Macmasters Beach facilities get a new look

Wendy Tuckerman – Minister for Local Government

Wednesday, 6 April 2022

The NSW Government and Central Coast Council are partnering on a $597,000 upgrade to community facilities at Macmasters Beach.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Adam Crouch said $348,077 is being provided through the Stronger Country Communities Fund towards improvements to toilets, change rooms and storage at the popular spot.

“Macmasters Beach is a postcard suburb next to Bouddi National Park and a haven for both locals and tourists,” Mr Crouch said.

“These upgrades will improve an essential facility, utilised by the whole community, including local surfers who will also benefit from new amenities and storage facilities for boards.”

Minister for Local Government Wendy Tuckerman said the investment would make the Central Coast an even better place to call home.

“This grant is part of more than $100 million being allocated to 435 projects across the state under round four of the Stronger Country Communities Fund to enhance the wellbeing of regional communities,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

Central Coast Council Administrator Rik Hart said the new public toilets and changerooms will provide a greatly improved and accessible facility for locals and visitors.

“Although tucked away in a remote location, Macmasters Beach is very popular with locals and visitors to our region,” Mr Hart said.

“This partnership with NSW Government and their funding contribution in addition to Central Coast Council contributing $248,923 has enabled Council to commence work on much needed community infrastructure.”

The upgrade project will include:

  • three unisex toilets, a unisex accessible toilet and two unisex ambulant toilets
  • one change room and a family room with toilet
  • three outdoor showers
  • storage area for Macmasters Beach Boardriders Club to support its training and competition events
  • Preservation of the mature Norfolk Pine tree located at the site

Works will be complete by the end of July 2022, weather permitting.
