Ashlee Hodson, Bankstown City Council
Ashlee joined Bankstown City Council in January 2012 as a Trainee Records Officer. Within nine months Ashlee was recognised for her strong work ethic and moved into a more senior position as ITs Corporate Support Officer. Ashlee has made a significant contribution to the IT team and the workflows and processes within the Information Management function.
Ashlee is passionate about education and helping others succeed and is often a guest speaker at Bankstown TAFE where she encourages students to undertake training or up-skill as well as promoting local government as an employer of choice.
Ashlee has attained three nationally-recognised qualifications in one year and was named the South Western Sydney Institute Trainee of the Year, Southern Sydney Region Trainee of the Year, NSW Trainee of the Year and culminating in being the Australian Apprentice (Trainee) of the Year.
Ashlee has written a book sharing the journeys of apprentices, trainees, vocational education students in the hope it will encourage greater participation in education and traineeships within the local government sector.
Ashlee has applied her interpersonal and organisational skills to fund raising activities at Bankstown.
City Council and helped raise more than $6,000 for Cancer Council’s Pink Ribbon Day.
