Councillor Sharon Cadwallader, Ballina Shire Council
Clr Cadwallader is currently serving her third consecutive term as Councillor at Ballina Shire Council.
In 1998, Clr Cadwallader relocated to Ballina and immediately set to strengthen the Ballina Chamber of Commerce, building its membership to over 300 members. During this time, Clr Cadwallader also assisted many business owners and operators in establishing and driving their business success.
Clr Cadwallader initiated setting up the Ballina Shire By-pass Ready Taskforce in response to community concerns over the potential impact of the opening of the Ballina By-ass on local businesses.
Following the 2010 Lennox Head tornado, Clr Cadwallader arranged an event for the victims of the tornado, where psychologists helped the victims share experiences and make plans for their future living in Lennox Head.
Clr Cadwallader has been a member of ALGWA NSW for the past ten years and was elected to the Executive in 2011. She is currently the Country Vice President. Clr Cadwallader strives to promote women to stand in local government elections and continuously lobbied to have information designed specifically for women.
