Improving the way we work with councils and other State agencies
The Office of Local Government’s Council Engagement Team is continuing to improve the way we work with councils and other State agencies.
Together the 6 Council Engagement Managers have more than 70 years’ experience in local government.
They bring with them a range of skills and experience in fields including governance, community engagement, environmental planning and sustainability, strategy and policy, and integrated planning and reporting.
Through regular and ongoing contact with councils and joint organisations, the team is identifying and helping address emerging issues while recognising the different needs of individual councils.
The engagement managers are also providing information and assistance to councils on State Government policy priorities and programs.
Since its inception in 2018 the Council Engagement Team has conducted more than 350 visits to NSW councils and attended over 70 joint organisation meetings, establishing strong working relationships with general managers and senior executives and providing a pathway to engage more freely with the Office of Local Government.
