The purpose of a performance improvement order is to provide a mechanism to act early in order to provide guidance as to how a council can remedy an emerging issue.
The purpose of suspension orders is to enable prompt action to be taken to correct a problem, to provide ‘time out’ to build or restore relationships, to allow effective business to resume and/or to remedy a failure by a council to do something that is required of it.
Current performance improvement or suspension orders are listed on this page under the relevant council name. Find the name of the council and click on the link to see any orders that are currently in place.
