Our Organisation
The Office of Local Government (OLG) is the NSW Government agency responsible for strengthening the sustainability, performance, integrity, transparency and accountability of the local government sector by acting as a regulator for the sector.
As part of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, OLG plays a key role in shaping the future of local government in NSW. We provide policy, legislative, investigative and program focus to regulate the State’s 128 local councils.
We also work collaboratively with the local government sector to support local councils in delivering for their local communities—ensuring they are well-governed, capable, and community-focused.
